(INDIANAPOLIS) – Indy’s Monument Circle has added a tribute to Hoosiers in Vietnam who never got a welcome home, alive or dead.

On the brick-paved spokes of Meridian and Market Streets surrounding the Soldiers and Sailors Monument, five rows of bricks on the north side of the Circle have been inscribed with the names of 50 Hoosier servicemembers and one civilian pilot still missing in the Vietnam War.

The Daughters of the American Revolution organized a dedication ceremony to mark National Vietnam Veterans Day. Members of the veterans group Rolling Thunder read off the roll call of names, each met with a response of, “Still missing, sir.”
