BREAKING NEWS: The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is huge.
Okay, so maybe that isn’t really breaking news, or news in the first place. It’s a given fact.
There are roughly 240,000 permanent seats at the IMS, and the sports venue itself is roughly 560 acres. But what about inside the track?
Now unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably seen graphics going around on social media showcasing that every Big Ten Conference Stadium can fit inside the 253 acre race track, and a seperate one illustrating that Vatican City in its entirety can rest comfortably inside the Speedway, along side the Roman Collesoum, the White House, Yankee Stadium, Taj Mahal and Churchill Downs.
But seeing as the IMS is here, in Indy, why not take a look at what we as Hoosiers have to offer? Enjoy.
