Man Arrested in Connection to Death of One-Year-Old Found in Northern Indiana Retention Pond
WHEELING, Ill. — A man has been arrested in connection to the death of a one-year-old girl who was found dead in a retention pond in northwest Indiana.
26-year-old Ahmeel Fowler of Pinegree Grove, Illinois was pulled over in Missouri, and taken to Illinois on an arrest warrant.
Police in Wheeling, Illinois say Fowler is accused of strangling 21-year-old Ja’nya Murphy, who was found dead in her Illinois home on Tuesday night. On Thursday, her one-year-old daughter, Jaclyn Dobbs, was found dead in a retention pond near I-80 in Hammond.
Investigators say Murphy and Fowler had been in a “troubled relationship.”
Police say additional charges are expected.
